To the Members of the Church on the Hill…

My heart is saddened to share the news of the passing of Mother Yvonne Kawimbe – wife of Bishop Paul J. M. Kawimbe. Many of you remember Bishop Kawimbe when he preached for us a few years ago. He is also the bishop of our work in Kenya. Their two youngest daughters were with them on my first trip to Nakuru and taught me words from their language Benba and Swahili.

I spent the better part of last evening texting and emailing our brothers and sisters in Kenya and speaking with friends around the world. Please lift Bishop Kawimbe and their six children up in your prayers. Pray also for the 17th Episcopal District leaders and members. Pray for our Zion as a true woman of God has been called home.

I will share more details as possible.
